The direction of approach MUST be from the High Ercall side, B 5062 onto Sherlowe Lane which is from the west.
DO NOT approach from the east side onto Sherlowe lane, off the B 5063 Cotwall Road out of the back of Telford. Which is the way your sat-nav will direct you if coming up from the south or west of the country then along the M54. This end of the Sherlowe Lane is a private gated road and you cannot turn around on it and the farmer will give you and our host a hard time which could lose us the ability to fly on the private airfield at Sherlowe in future. Postcode into sat nav will also take you the wrong way.
So DON’T DO IT!
Once on the Sherlowe lane travelling east from High Ercall, after about half a mile, turn right at a sign for Lower Grounds Farm. This takes you over two cattle grids and past the front of the farmhouse and out buildings. Go under the arch of trees towards the aircraft hangar straight ahead and the airfield is on your right. Park in a row to the left of the small brick building on right hand side which is the kitchen and toilets.
Arriving on the Saturday evening and camping, motorhomes and caravans all ok, but please let me know as I need to inform the airfield owners.
